First Post EVER

Link to first post---

http://dsguymon.blogspot.com/2008/08/kim-told-me-to-do-this.html

In thinking about my blogging so much I wanted to know what I wrote in my first blog post ever, so I looked it up and it's FUNNY and a huge COINCIDENCE because.......read it.....it says that Melanee was leaving for college in 6 days. HAHAHAHA, because TODAY, she comes home in 6 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I post too much

I was just reading a blog of one of those people who have blogs that are followed by many, and who blog about topics that are entertaining and important...not just about their kids track meets and soccer games....and she was celebrating her 400th post. She was really making a big deal about it, like having a give away contest!

I looked up how many posts I have written since I started this last August- 608! Six Hundred EIGHT.

Seriously...do I write too much?????????????????

Cameron and Melanee

I always knew that I have a BeAuTiFuL daughter. She was a perfect looking baby, cute toddler, pretty elementary school aged girl, then around Junior High......I could tell that she would grow up to be GoRgeOuS. Back then she was attractive, but not the stuck-up, boy-chasing, grown-up too fast type of attractive. She was a sweet girl who dressed in long basketball shorts, t shirts, and wore her hair in pig tails. (I remember sitting at the park with Michelle talking about Melanee and her modest clothing and the things that were important to her at the time, and I was glad that she was the way she was, because we both knew what would happen when she grew up.) In high school, she began to style her hair and wear make up and was great looking, but LOOK AT HER NOW, all grown up and STUNNING.
When I got this picture in my e mail and opened it, my heart either skipped a beat or beat faster because I guess I haven't seen her in a while or I forgot what she looked like or something, because it shocked me to see her so pretty.
I've seen a couple of snapshots of Cameron and I thought I knew in my mind what he looked like, but when I saw this picture.....WOW he's handsome!!!!! Even though it is black and white, they are GLoWinG. They are a very attractive couple, and that is very weird for me to say, because I have never seen them together AND it is weird for me as a mom to have her daughter be part of a "couple". (Isn't she just a KID????? Isn't she!!??!?!?)
I know that Cameron's mom, Teena, is a professional photographer and she does this (makes people look good) for a living but if you look at these two kids (yes, they are still KIDS) their BEAUTY is not just on the outside, they are wonderful people, very special.
I LOVE this picture. Thank you Teena for taking it. And thanks Melanee for sharing it with me (even though you probably knew I would stick it on my blog 5 seconds after receiving it.)
All those days of watching repeats of "America's Next Top Model" last summer probably made Melanee want to some day take part in a photo shoot of her own......I've only seen two of the pictures, but Melanee is more photogenic than any of those "Top Models". It is not Melanee's make up, Cameron's haircut, their clothes, or the setting of the picture, it is THEM that look striking.
What do you think?

Chuck E. Cheese

We had tokens left over from the last time we went to Chuck E. Cheese, so tonight for Family Home Evening we went to Chuck E. Cheese. We had so much fun. There was hardly anyone there except us and 3 employees. The machines were very generous in ticket distribution. And they actually had cotton candy as a prize this time (they are usually out).

Another Hat Trick

I stoppd trying to take pictures at the indoor arena, but Bradley scored another hAt TRiCk today- 3 goals. He has really improved since the outdoor season. Indoor soccer just may be his sport.

9 days

I was talking to Melanee yesterday and asked her what she was doing and she said, "Packing".
WOW, she will be home shortly!!!! Like in only 9 days. I Can't Wait. May 5th. Cinco De Mayo.
She has finals next week then her freshman year will be over.

Baby Chick

The first baby chick of the spring hatched today.

cell phone pictures from the track meet

This a a picture from the 1 mile race. I think this one was taken on the second or 3rd lap.
This was taken during the 1st lap of the 1 mile.

Someone dumped their ice chest....so a snowball fight was bound to happen, right? It was pretty fun, until some people in the stands were hit with a snowball.

new blog song

I left the last song on FOREVER! I was actually waiting for someone to tell me it was time to change it. But no one ever did..... Either you all really loved it (I know Kenzie did) or you just read blogs with your speakers off (or you don't have speakers).

Anyway, you know how at the end of a season, or a world series, or a championship the tv producers put together a montage of scenes from the season set to mucic????? Well, this at the end of the Kings season they played this song, "The Climb" along with their highlight (and lowlight, it was the Kings, you know) reel. I LOVED it. I had heard the song once or twice before on the Disney Channel (it is Miley Cyrus singing), and I didn't even like it then, but the Kings tv producers made it sound PERFECT for their montage....

I told the PV soccer team that I would do their season DVD like I did last year, so I am always thinking about music to use....well, now I have one song, definitely going to use this one. There is also a good one from High School Musical. I was thinking of playing "bad to the bone" when Zoe is on screen. HAHA. So if you have any other song suggestions for the PV video, send them to me. (not, "another one bites the dust" for the wipeout section!).

Andrew and the Goal Post

Remember a few weeks back I told you that we thought that Andrew might be part monkey because of his monkey like climbing skills....well, yesterday, at the track meet, I was talking to some friends (both of their kids are Melanee and William's ages. I've had both of their kids on my soccer teams. They also work for the school district, so I have that in common with them, too.) Anyway, we were catching up on old times and I pointed out Bradley and Andrew, who were playing on the football field. After a while, the wife pointed out toward the football field and said, "Isn't that one of yours?" Andrew was up ON TOP of the football goal post! I asked, "Do you think I should help him get down, or do you think I should take a picture?" We laughed, but by time I got the camera out he had slid down.

Later he climbed it again, and I got a video, because without the video how many of you would really believe me that a 7 year old could climb a goal post?

here are the pictures

Go Vikes! I just spent a long time writing about this track meet for your enjoyment, but my computer gives me that mean error message everytime I try to paste it in here, so some advice, don't type up a blog post on Word, then try to paste it over here, it wont work.

Here is the order of events (bottom part got cut off).

beautiful clouds

happy after the mile

waiting for the gun. william is in a bad starting postition, he is going to get blocked in BIG TIME as soon as the race starts.

This is the 4 x 400 team waiting for the girls race to finish so they can race.

Now they are all lined up, but still WAITING.

William and Obama

William and Coach Jackson, (undoubtable teasing him)

the hand off

making up ground
the final stretch

the kids playing on the football field in the middle of the track, basically unaware of the track meet going on all around them.

These two girls were so funny, I just had to take a picture of them. They ran side by side, SLOWLY, the whole two mile race. Smiling, talking, having fun, but going REALLLLLLLLLY slow. They crossed the finish line hand in hand. I think they got double lapped by just about everyone else.

Medal Winner William
Track is a fun sport!

Pleasant Valley Viking Invitational Meet

I will add pictures in a little while....most of them are on my cell phone because for the first race (the mile) I had my camera, but the memory card wasn't in it...then for the second race (the 800) my battery died. I did get a few pictures of the 4 x 400 relay, but it's only one lap, so I didn't get very many....

I did get a cool video of the hand off in the 4 x 400-

a few extra pictures from the meet

just liked this cloud

the 2 mile

Track vs. Foothill and Paradise

William ran two races today. These are pictures from the 4 x 400 relay. William ran the 3rd leg of the race. He had just run the 2 mile one event before this race, so he was tired, but he ran fast. His team came in 2nd place.

Bradley and Andrew at the meet

Bradley! Love this kid!!!! He is so nice and thoughtful and sensitive....a real middle child, still needs lots of hugs and reaassurance, but who is becoming more confident and smart all the time.

(Look at this picture----those teeth----those teeth that cost us $3,000 in surgery and braces last year, the one new front tooth is SOOOOO crooked, what's up with that!!!!!!)

There is an ice cube in his hand.

I almost ALWAYS center people in my photos. I like this one even though it is off center and his head is cut off.
Andrew is a fun kid. I like to watch him at recess running around with his friends playing made up games and rarely stopping to talk to me. I wish he wasn't so stubborn and active sometimes, but he has a great personality, he will probably do well in life, he's a smart kid. (We've learned not to do Bradley's flash card practice in front of him.) Love this little guy!

They are good brothers, lucky to have each other. It's wonderful when they are playing together and entertaining each other.

Track Meet

Andrew was a great little helper, volunteer. He went out onto the track between each hurdle event. He helped raise and move them. It was pretty cute. Bradley helped once, also, but Andrew ran out there each time. There are a lot of hurdles to move...if everyone in the stands would help, it would have went much faster.....everyone should be like Andrew.

Verizon

Ann, do you have Verizon?

Another Tournament Picture

I begged Melanee to send me some pictures. She said that Cameron missed the first game because he got lost trying to find it. Then Cameron's camera broke during the second game. She gave him her camera, but he was too busy watching the game, then it got dark, so she only had one picture that turned out. Then she said that she didn't want it on my blog because it made her look "bad" because she is laying down and everyone else is sitting. But I begged her to send it anyway, promissing that I wouldn't use it on my blog. But when I received it, I really thought it made her look "GOOD" because she was working so hard during the game that at half time she needed to just lay flat out because she was so exhausted. The other girls may not have been so tired, because they didn't work quite so hard. I like the picture. I like the lighting. And I just love all those girls, especially Melanee.
