Easiest Thanksgiving meal Ever

I had Bradley make the celery and cheese....then got out my camera and told him to look like he was having fun (he wasn't) but, lol, he's a good actor. 

It was just the 5 of us this year, so Bradley and Andrew got to sit at the Grown Ups Table.  They loved it.  They even helped set it and they picked out the giant orange/pink candles.  They said they had never eaten off of China made in Japan, eaten with real silver, or had a drink out of a wine glass before.  Andrew even leaned a little about table manners (no need to put your mouth on the plate and slide the corn into it) and why my dad put a table mat down before we ate (lots of spills).   We had turkey, but it was just a turkey breast, not the whole bird, so it was much easier to cook.  The potatoes and gravy were great.  And the highlight of the meal were the rolls.  (They were the Hawaiian King rolls, yum.)  We had fun trying to get the salt and pepper shakers open.  More than once the words, "Best Thanksgiving meal ever" were stated.  I think 3 of the 4 of the people in this photo have their mouths full and my dad has the look on his face which says, "why are you taking a picture while we are trying to eat".

If you have been following my blog for more than a year, you know that whenever we have a large family get together we always set the camera timer and do a snapshot of everyone there.....and even though this wasn't a "large" get together, I still wanted a picture "for the blog"!!!

Well, I couldn't figure out how to use the timer on ANY of the cameras on hand, so I picked the person with the longest arms to just hold and shoot....and this is what we got....creeper hands and all---

2011 Run For Food

We woke Bradley up early to get ready for the 5k run, but he was tired and moved VERY slowly.  I made him some pancakes and gave him a Gatorade.  He seemed pretty eager after that.  This first picture is taken at our house before we left, it was just starting to rain....but luckily it was not FREEZING cold like last year.

Scott was feeding someone's dog, so he missed out on the pancakes...so he just brought his with us to the park.  People kept making comments like, "carbo loading?", "getting fueled up for the race", stuff like that, it was funny.  What was also funny was that Bradley was very embarrassed that Scott was walking along eating pancakes in the rain at the race out in public.

While we waited for the runners to come around, Andrew climbed trees. 

 Not sure if you can see him in this crowd, but we waited and watched for a runner in green shorts and the race t shirt.  I even took photos of a kid in green shorts who wasn't Bradley....deleted them...haha.  Then Bradley finally came along and I got a few shots of him as he ran along the swimming area.  I took more than these few, but a bunch of them were right when he was behind a person or tree or garbage can. 

He looks MUCH better after the race this year than he did last year after running in full sweat suit, doesn't he???

Scott took this photo with his cell phone camera.  I told him to get a picture of Bradley "crossing the finish line", but I wanted a picture of HIS FACE!!!  But Scott did really good to get the race clock in the photo.  Bradley's time was less though, because he didn't get to the "start" line until about a minute (or 2) into the race.

He's resting now!  Exhausted!!!  What a great way to start Thanksgiving!

Weirdest Dream EVER

I am having an impossible time trying to upload to my blog the Run For Food pictures...so while I'm waiting for my Internet to come back to life....I thought I'd try to remember the ODD details of my dream last night.

The setting was Landon Donovan/Sidney Crosby's house.  (They morphed back and forth into each other.)  Landon/Sidney had a sister...it was the blond girl from Pan Am.  The also had a younger sister who was the girl who Max tuned into on Wizards of Waverly place.  Scott and I were at Landon/Sidney's house.  Scott and Sidney were talking about how Scott saved all his money from odd jobs to buy some "lawn soap" (whatever that is) as opposed to the regular soap they used last time...to put into Melanee and Dax's basement to play some practical joke.  I remember thinking that Sidney should have paid for it since he is rich and Scott was using all of his odd job money.  And the blond Pan Am sister was saying, "Don't waste your money of lawn soap, you should just buy them a table cloth."  (And we all looked at her strangely.)  Landon was sitting on the couch telling us not to wake up his mom and dad.  Then we all went down to Landon/Sidney's basement which was more like a long cave with bats and bat holes on the ceiling.  We walked along until there was a huge spider like from Harry Potter, on the other side of the spider was a cave man guy in a animal skin loin cloth.  It was Douglas Murrary.  He was trying to show us the exit, but the blond sister was afraid of the spider, but the Wizards of Waverly place sister wasnt...thats when I woke up.

William and Melanee played what looked like Mud Football today...well, from the pictures, it looks like just William played. 

The big kids are having Thanksgiving in Tennessee with Dax's family.  I'm so thankful they have a place to go and have fun and food! 

I am Thankful for Scott

Because Whitni (and/or Buck) pointed it out...and Because Scott reads the comment section on my blog, I thought I better add that I am also thankful for a great husband who provides us with everything we need.

Run For Food Registration

     Bradley has been asking if he can do the "Run For Food" again.  I wasn't in a rush to sign him up because last year he just ran, unregistered.  This year he wanted to be an "official" runner, but that costs money.  The fees and profit made from the run goes to the Jesus Center, a homeless shelter for men, so I guess I don't feel so bad paying for Bradley to run...he also got a really cool long sleeved t shirt and an "official" number, which he was really excited about.  He trained each day this week for it, lol, 2 days, but at least he's serious, haha.       I knew the place was going to be crowded, so we went before opening.  It was at "Fleet Feet" downtown, so parking is never available nearby.  I drove by and dropped him off.  I gave him his receipt.  Then I went and found a parking space.  He was about 4th or 5th in line when I drove ONE block.  When I parked, fed the meeter, walked back to the store, I found Bradley at the END of a LONG line.  I was shocked.  I had only given the meter a DIME, I knew he would be QUICK, but he let everyone cut in line because he "didn't have any money"....ummmm BRADLEY, I paid ONLINE, that paper is your RECEIPT, you don't need money!!!  Then he was worried what size shirt to get, that was already registered also, it was on the paper, did he look at the paper????  Well, they had tons of workers, so it only took us about 10 minutes to get all done with the wait and registration pick up process.  Come back on Thanksgiving for race photos!

Rope Swing

We went out to lunch with Michelle and Kolby today.  On the way home we picked up Bradley's bike from a friend's house.  As we were driving home, the kids pointed out the rope swing....so I stopped and they got out and played.

PATTY

The other day my favorite player on the Sharks Patrick Marleau scored a goal....ever since last season, maybe even the past TWO seasons, I've sent Melanee a text that says simply PATTY, in all caps, when he scores.  And I thought she really enjoyed receiving them.  Well, during that same game, he scored again, then AGAIN....a HAT TRICK.  I sent her 3 PATTY texts.  She didn't reply to any of them....so the next time I talked to her I asked if she had received the texts.  She said, "yes".  So I asked her if she thought they were repeats or if she knew that he scored a hat trick.  That's when she told me.....wait for it......waitttttt......she t o l d me that she doesn't care about hockey or the Sharks and that she ignores the Patty texts.  WHAT?????

I guess it doesn't matter if we don't share the same interests.  It doesn't hurt THAT BAD.  I guess. 

But then today, I got the cookie photo and upon future inspection and enlarging of photos and reaffirming my discovery with Bradley, I see that she is WEARING HER SHARKS SHIRT!!!!  WHAT????  That is, oh whats it called when you say something (dont care about PATTY) and do something else (wear a shirt, making it look like you like PATTY)....hypocritical (nah, that may be a little harsh, haha) ....

but,  HOW could she not like the Sharks? or hockey even?  lol!!! 

And, doesn't she KNOW that it's WAY luckier to wear Shark shirts on GAME DAY!!!!

Melanee and Dax made cookies yesterday in the shape of a soccer field.  When I first saw this, before I super enlarged it like Allie Ogden recommended, I thought they did the kind of cookies where you use all the dough and make a "pan cookie".  I thought they frosted it like a soccer field...but, no, look closely, they really formed their cookie dough into a soccer field.  Those two really must be soccer fanatics!!!!  I think I'll have Andrew (our resident baker) make me a hockey cookie for tomorrows big Sharks vs. Blackhawks game!!!

William, are you still addicted to this game?  I thought about playing tonight....but resisted, because I didn't want to lose "just one more time" minutes of my life!

Bee Sting

Now, this one was taken from my phone camera and it is not as high quality as Scotts phone camera....but I got stung by a bee for the first time today!  I have avoided the bees ever since Scott began this hobby.  Until today!  He had left a sweat shirt out in the back patio....where the washer and dryer are....and when I picked it up to throw it in the wash----I got STUNG...I was MAD!!!! And it HURT!  I am not a big fan of bees!

Scott, Bradley, and Andrew went hunting on Saturday and Bradley got the only duck of the day.  I like this photo, the coloring...good job phone camera! 

Group Boards, E mail, Facebook. Twitter, Blogs

I used to have two or three favorite places to go online when we first got Internet, they were Message Boards.  I could talk (type) with people like "Mormon Moms" and "Sport Parents".  It was fun for me.  I also used to e mail A TON.  Every time I opened my e mail there would be new emails.  Then most of the message board people left and went to Facebook.  For a long time, when I would get on the computer I would check my e mail first, facebook second, twitter third, then I'd blog.  Now, I half the time forget to check e mail, because there is hardly anything ever there.  Facebook, I like it because the "status updates" are from people I know, but it's a not always all that exciting.  Now I always check Twitter first.  I don't even "know" the people I "follow" on Twitter...haha....but it is fun to read about all that they are doing and their opinions on stuff. 

Most everyone who reads my blog also is a friend on Facebook....so I sometimes wonder, should I write stuff on BOTH?  Are blogs going the way of the old Message Boards (and MySpace, haha). Very few of my "blog friends" blog regularly.  Maybe I just need new blog friends.  Or, really, have people stopped Blogging?  Is it a lost art?  Will interest in blogs ever pick up again?  Should I keep mine updated????

a trick

I figured out a way to get into my blog....I go to Krisha's blog and click on her link to my blog...yeah, that works! 

I don't have any pictures, but I had a pretty good day today.  I've been SOOOO tired lately and my back hurts and my wrist hurts and I'm feeling down about stuff that goes on in my ward....so basically I've been feeling sad or bad...not really "depressed" but just down.  I've been "tired" a lot....I could take a nap in a second if I ever close my eyes between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm, so I have started to worry that I have "Chronic fatigue syndrome".....when I saw the photo of William giving blood I remembered that I can never give blood because my iron is always too low....so today I took a vitamin and tried to eat good food all day.  I think it helped. 

And this evening I got to Skype with both Melanee and William together so that was fun.  I don't think I have chronic fatigue syndrome, I think I just need to take better care of my health.  And I need to have cheerful things happen, like talking to my favorite big kids in Virginia!

And, if the Sharks win tonight, it will have been an EXCELLENT day!

sore wrist

I think it's getting better, but ever since Saturday my left wrist has been really sore.  I have tried wrapping it with an ace bandage and I even borrowed a wrist brace, but the only thing that seems to make it feel better is not using it.  It was getting better on Monday, but then we went and played basketball.  Now, today, it's starting to feel better again.  The things that hurts it the most are washing the dishes, especially cups, opening my car door, and holding or lifting things with my left hand.  Pretty much, wrists are an important part of the body.  I hope none of you ever injure yours!!!!

We look NOTHING like the girls in the photo, they actually make me laugh thinking of Michelle and I dressed up like that, so really the picture doesn't fit, but the words of this quote make me instantly think of my friend Michelle!  Well, she probably DOES get tired of listening to my pointless drama OVER AND OVER again, but she never shows it!  I cant wait till our next lunch get together...they are the BEST!  Michelle you are awesome!

Soccer Sign Ups

     I just signed Bradley A N D Andrew up for soccer today.  Soccer starts at the end of January.  Basketball starts in December.  Scouts will still be going on.  I am looking forward to the busy time because right now the kids aren't really in anything (except scouts).  I am very, very excited that Andrew WANTED to sign up for soccer.  He is a really good athlete, but has never really enjoyed soccer, so for him to WANT to sign up....maybe, hopefully, this season will be different!!!!!  And Bradley will be thrilled to know that he will no longer be the youngest one on his team and that the 14 year old freshman are now too old to be on his team.  I think it's going to be a great season.  And if you are wondering--- no, I did not check the little box stating that I will coach!

William NEVER talks to me anymore on the phone, on Facebook, chat, skype, or even text....but I did get this photo text today....so that made me happy.  I guess he is enjoying giving blood, look at that smile.  Thanks for the picture William!!!  And thanks for giving blood.  Good Job!

Parachute

I still get the "this blog does not exist" message, but I can sign in and post, just not see the posts or any part of the blog when I am through.....
but here is BRADLEY's class today!  Yeah, they are 6th graders....playing, and having tons of fun, with the parachute.  Isn't that a kindergarten thing?  haha!  Sorry for the poor picture quality, I took it with my phone camera....no zoom lens...and I didn't want them to see me up close taking their picture...

Sharks Hockey

I LOVE Sharks Hockey.  I love the Sharks.  I love the players on the Sharks.  I love the tv crew.  I thoroughly enjoy the games.  So I don't really want to get on my blog every time they lose and criticize them.  I know no one feels worse about the loss than the team.  I know that we can all complain and say they need to play better or try harder....but I'm sure the are trying their best and I'm sure they know when they lose that they need to improve their play!!!

But I WILL say that when the team gets behind early, the coach should NOT panic and start switching up the lines.  The Sharks have A LOT of good players.  Yeah, a good player can play hockey, anytime, anywhere, with anyone.  But if you practice and play with certain players you get to know their game better.  You know where they will likely go on the ice.  You know what kind of passes they like.  You can feel more comfortable.  If the coach switches up, I'm sure that must really be hard.  I bet the coach is trying to make something happen, trying to light a fire under the guys, trying to win, but UGHHHHHH, let them play!  In hockey it only takes like 14 seconds to get up the ice and score.  I've seen a team recently score TWO goals in a 16 second spread.  Coming from a 2 point deficit with 60 minutes to play can be accomplised without any drastic measures.  Especially with a team like the Sharks who have defenders who can shoot (Braun and Burns), who have speedy guys who can score even shorthanded (Marleau), who have good passers (Thornton and Havlet), who have guys who can do AMAZING things (Pavelski, Couture, even Clowe).....so, coach, DON'T PANIC....leave the lines ALONE. 

And, David, yes, you mentioned Dan Boyle....is he the next Wallin.  Or Huskins...haha.  He was on the ice for all the goals.  I did see him kneel down and block a shot with his body, which was awesome and surely painful, but was also a drastic measure he was forced to take as a last attempt to get in the way of the puck.  He hasn't shown much offensively this year.  He hasn't shown much defensively.  I think Vlasic is our best defenseman.  I think Boyle is aging, hurt, or still has the flu (3 weeks later, haha).  In the post game interview he did say that the 4 days off will be good for the guys with injury or sickness.  I think the guys play better after a tough loss.  I wish the break was shorter so they can get back out there right away.  But they are playing DETROIT on Thursday....if they have lingering sickness or injuries, I hope they heal so they can be fully healthy for the Detroit game. 

I am NOT impressed with the new White....Ian White, Colin White, neither are what the Sharks need.  Is there a stat showing how many times White softly tried to clear the puck out and the other team got it and got another chance???? 

I know the Sharks had like 17 turnovers yesterday and the Coyotes only had like 6....and the Coyotes lead the faceoff category, too!!!!  Gotta WIN the faceoffs.  And the Sharks blew many power play chances. 

I know Phoenix had it easy after getting the lead....they just started playing a lot of defense.  The Sharks didn't play organized Sharks hockey after they fell behind.  I feel sorry for the people who paid money to watch that game then didn't even get to hear the Sharks goal song, even once. 

I thought the Phoenix goalie played well.  He stopped 31 shots...that's a lot.  It seems the Sharks get stumped by the goalies who are not big super stars. 

I'm really glad that Pavs didn't get hurt worse.  I do miss Seto and Heatley, though!!!  *David, did you watch the YouTube video I posted on William's Facebook wall???

USMNT game today

The "twitter" people I tried to talk to about the game didn't have much to say, Melanee/Dax/William didn't have much to say, even the little "discussion" I started on Facebook didn't go anywhere....so I guess I'll use this blog space to write my feelings about the USMNT today. 

I was excited to watch the game....but actually thought it was pretty boring.  I liked the navy blue shorts worn by the US, they reminded me of the PV girls uniforms.  They have worn the red jerseys for most of the past games, I liked the change.  I wish they would allow the guys to be their favorite numbers and I wish their names were on the backs of their jerseys, but I totally get the idea of playing for the crest on the front, not the name on the back.  France's women's team wore blue shirts, blue shorts, and red socks and they looked pretty cool, but France's men, today, had white shorts....it was a little distracting at first with all the blue/white combinations out  there. 

I think that these "friendly" games are good for a new coach to try out different players and different systems, formations, strategies, etc.....but I haven't seen much change throughout all of coach Klinnsman's games.  If he wants to form the team of the future, he should play the young guys.  The next World Cup is in 2014....some of our 30 year olds will be 33 year olds then....VERY old for an athlete.  He should use these games to work in our next World Cup team.  Will Steve Cherundolo really be playing then?  Really?  He's one of my VERY favorites, but he has lost a step and will be OLD in 2014....give someone else a chance at right back NOW, so that it will be THEIR position in 2014.  Don't waste friendlies playing Cherundolo.  (Sorry Melanee.)  Carlos Bocanegra is Cherundolo's age, maybe it's time to work someone else into Center Back, too.  Play the young guys. 

Now at Left Back, you KNOW I love Jonny Bornstein for all his ping pong/dart playing/sandwhich making/golfing fun.....and I KNOW he BLEW his chances....and the other chances...and the rest of the chances he has been given.  I even know that he is NOT even a "star" down in Mexico, and he is not even mentioned in any of the stories of "USMNT playing abroad"....but, SERIOUSLY, can you SERIOUSLY tell me that Chandler is better at left back than Jonathan Bornstein.  He's not even left footed.  He doesn't "attack".  He doesn't cover his guy.  He doesn't steal the ball.  He doesn't win headers....and have you seen his CROSSES?????  Well, at least he isn't as bad as Michael Orozco Fiscal or whatever that horrible guy's name was from the last few games. 

Center mids.......ok, do we have to play ALL defensive minded type center midfielders?  That sure makes for a dull game.  Attack, I say, Attack!!!!  GO FORWARD and MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.  This new William's guy....I think I read that he could either play for Germany or us....so the coach called him up and let him play so that he can not play for Germany anymore....but he is another holding type player.  He's not exciting at all...and he did not possess the ball at all except for maybe one run east/west rather than the preferred north/south.  Did he get any crosses off?  Did he stay wide?  Was he virtually invisible.  When Donovan and Holden come back, I hope this William's character's name isn't even on the roster.

There were a lot of complaints about the selection of Robbie Rodgers.  I do not have a problem with him.  He has scored the "Goal of the Year" in MLS, he has won an MLS cup....he is not a bad player.  He even scored one of the two goals which have been scored since Klinnsman took over the coaching duties.  He can definitely cross the ball better than Williams!  (And he's cuter!)(If I write that does that negate my credibility as a soccer "expert"?)

Jozy Altidore, he has ALWAYS bugged me, but he seems to be trying harder, so that's a plus.  He can now create things for himself and for others.  He is playing a lot for his club team and that experience is so good for him.  He looks so strong.  But with all that strength, WHY oh WHY does he fall over sooooooo easily.  I know he's trying to draw the foul, but I KNOW that if he could stay on his feet he would have better luck in scoring.  The refs never give him anything.  Stop flopping.  So ANNOYING.  The people on Twitter were saying the top players were Howard, Altidore and Dempsey.  How can two of the top players be offensive players in a 1-0 LOSS.  If their game was "effective" today, they would have scored.  Being able to create chances is not a good way of basing whether or not a player had a good game or not.....being able to CAPITALIZE on chances by SCORING GOALS is how we can tell if a forward had a good game or not!!!!  And, about Dempsey, does he ever NOT have grass stains on his back and shoulder from being wiped out constantly? 

Yeah, Howard made a good save or two.....but I really think he could have and should have made a save on that goal.  He stuck out his leg and arm, he should have picked one or the other and should have GOT SOMETHING on the ball.  And, Goodson, he shouldn't have fallen down on the goal....and upfield, BocanegraKlinnsman's game plan, and not being able to hold possession.....but that France goal was a defensive miscue!  And it happened RIGHT after a substitution of about 3 players....wonder if those subs weren't ready yet, meaning, they hadn't got their bearings, a feel for the game, weren't sure where to be or who to cover....

If Cherundolo is "too old" by my theories, then Buddle should not be stinking up a roster spot.  A few of the guys who will probably be on the roster next World Cup are getting in their playing time on the U23 team, so I honestly don't think there will be a Buddle, so why bring him along now???

OK, I shouldn't have saved for last my BIGGEST RANT....Kyle Beckerman!  UGHHHHHHH.  I know he is a "baller"....but that's in the MLS....and there in the MLS he is also a thug, getting carded right and left, picking up enemies as he goes.  Michael Bradley plays in Italy...he has previously played in the English Premiere league.  He is fairly young (5 years younger than Beckerman).  He scores goals and plays defense.  He runs ALL OVER the field, non stop.  He can pass.  He can hold the ball.  AND, most importantly, he has BETTER HAIR than Beckerman!!!!! 

I know every fan has their favorites....you should have read the comments of Niemi fans on Twitter after he played a horrible game the other night....they thought he played well....so I know I am biased towards and against some of the guys.  I also know that I don't like "new" things or "change"....like in music, I don't like songs I have never heard before.....(I know, haha, that I must have heard the songs I do like for the first time once)...so, just like in music, these new guys may someday be my favorites....like remember when Clint Dempsey REALLLLLLLLLLY bugged me???  I really like him now!!!!  But, these thoughts on the game and the players are my opinions-----do you agree or disagree!

Dynamo vs. Galaxy

I had a great, wonderful idea for a blog post.... but these pictures are just TOO FUNNY to hold onto until I feel witty enough to think of all the funny stuff I wanted to say about the upcoming MLS Cup game....

I knew that Melanee and William both had Houston Dynamo jerseys....and that Andrew has two Galaxy jerseys....and I like both teams....so I asked Melanee to send me a picture of her and William wearing their jerseys.  I should have mentioned to Melanee that it was for a blog post and I wanted them to look like crazed fans, not like a model and someone who looks like he realllllly doesn't want to be in the photo.  (note, check Bradley and Andrew....THAT'S what I had in mind, haha)

more sports ramblings

 Ok, did you see the Dynamo celebrate and accept their Eastern Conference Championship trophy?  Now the Galaxy are having some kind of parade to present their trophy to the fans!!???!!!!????!!!!  Ok, one difference between soccer and hockey players is that SOCCER PLAYERS pretend to be injured, even when they are not, they whine, cry, moan, groan, grimace, get carried off on stretchers, need to be sprayed with some magic injury spray....while HOCKEY PLAYERS pretend to be fine, even when they are seriously injured.  Now, this next difference is really big, too.  Soccer players (teams) accept Divisional Trophies, they touch them, the dance with them, kiss them, pass them around, pose for pictures with them, display them for all to see.  Hockey players (teams) refuse to touch the trophy, they don't CARE about the Conference title because the only trophy they want, the only important trophy, is the Stanley Cup.  I don't even think they make Western Conference Champion t shirts for hockey, and if they do, I don't think I've ever seen a team wearing them after their game, like the soccer teams just did.

The first year Melanee won All American, her school's SID wrote an article and sent it to our local newspaper The Chico Enterprise Record.  They published it.  The next two years Melanee's school didn't have an SID, so I don't think anything was in the paper her sophomore year, but last year I wrote an e mail to the Enterprise Record.  I included a few details, but that was it....MY E MAIL, written word for word...was the article they published in the paper.  I didn't want that to happen this year....and if I would have known that was going to happen, I would have written MORE (haha)....anyway, so that the same thing wouldn't happen, this year I wrote to the sports editor and my e mail was BRIEF....and I told the guy to call the school's SID, or call me or even Melanee to get details for a great story of local girl makes good....he never e mailed me back or called or anything.... I don't take the newspaper, but a stack of newspapers are delivered to our school each day and they are set on the counter for anyone to take.  I rarely take one!  But, today, I got to work early, and the picture on the cover was of 3 cops beating up a transient, so I grabbed one and went and sat down at a table to wait for kids to arrive.  I read the first page, second, you know, skimming, but just looking....and then there---right on the front page of the Sports section, on top of the fold, was the headline "Guymon.........."  Sooooo exciting....but he never called......and the article looked SHORT....so I, before I read it, was mad that he again just used no details!  But after reading it, I could tell that he just used the article from the school's website.  That's cool, though....the only thing I didn't like was that he called her a "forward" in the article....but she only played forward just a portion of this season....she also played mid field and sweeper.  By calling her a forward, some people might read it and think that her goal or assist totals seemed pretty low.  Oh well!!!  Now we just have to wait and see if they put anything about her on the news!  (I'll never really know, though, because we don't watch the news, haha!)

MLS Playoffs (pt 2)

Well, I enjoyed the games.  I really liked that Houston Dynamo won their game.  I became a Dynamo fan a few years back....the San Jose Earthquakes moved their whole team and organization to Houston and became the Dynamo....so I was a fan already...haha...but I really started liking the Dynamo because I liked Stuart Holden from the USMNT.  I started following him on Twitter and just about everyday he would Twitter the things that he was doing with his family, roommates, friends, teammates.  He would share photos and I just felt like I knew him and his friends.  He now plays in Europe, actually, he is now injured, but the current Dynamo team are those guys he would always joke about and play tricks on. 
I am also happy that Mike Magee scored the game winning goal in the Galaxy game.  It makes me happy that it wasn't one of those multi million dollar super stars.  Mike Magee seems so awkward and cute and happy and funny and nice.  I want to show you a picture of him and of a famous actor named Bradley Cooper and tell me if you think Magee resembles Cooper???

If you remember from my earlier post, I also like Will Johnson on Real Salt Lake....and I wanted him to be a hero in the game...well, he stopped a SURE goal....with his FACE....it was awesome....he is really tough....so, both of my favorite players played well...I'm happy with the game and the outcome. I think Houston is going to have a tough time against the Galaxy, but in soccer, ANYTHING can happen in ANY game, that's why the game is played.....remember the 2009 USCAA national championship tournament...the #1 seed played the #8 seed and took 45 shots to their 7 shots and who won the game???? Not the favorite, not the better team. For the MLS Championship in a few weeks, I think I will just root for a good game. 

MLS playoffs

I've been watching the MLS playoffs (the games which have been on ESPN, that is.....FOX soccer is TOOOOOOOO expensive...which stinks, because they just bought the rights for the next World Cup). 

I've enjoyed every game so far....but today I am going to miss a part of the Dynamo game....shucks!  AND, I am really not sure who to root for in the RSL vs. Galaxy game.  I have been a Galaxy fan for a few years now, but some of the things they do bug me and I don't like that they have so many multi million dollar world wide super stars all on the same team, so I think it would be funny if they lost....but I do REALLY like one of the guys on their team....Mike Magee...haha....and I will totally root for him to play well.  And I've never been a Real Salt Lake fan ever since I was friends with Richard Crist.  He got to go to a lot of their games and he was a big fan, but after he de friended me from Facebook and texting...I sort of secretly root against RSL because they are "his" team...haha...mean, huh?  But, like the Galaxy's Magee, there is one player on RSL that I REALLY like, Will Johnson.  He plays for Canada and he tries really hard and seems to always be in a good place on the field (and I follow him on Twitter and he seems really nice).

So I guess I want the Dynamo to win and either RSL or the Galaxy as long as Will Johnson and Mike Magee score the game winner!  haha! 

Bradley's soccer from yesterday

My good camera had a dead battery yesterday, but my other camera was also in the car, so I did get a few poor quality photos...these first two are funny because look how they lined up for the kick off...6 guys on the center line---

And for the other team's kick off, all six of them up there on the circle again....WHAT!  Who is their coach?  Who taught them that?  (Probably nobody, I can almost tell what happened, it's the last game of the season, they are teen and pre teenagers, they are going to DO WHAT THEY WANT, play WHERE they want.  All those guys were probably assigned a postition, they are all probably, in their minds, going to try to score!  Forget positioning!!!!

This was the first time Bradley got to play against "the yellow team"....and two of our friends are on the yellow team.  At one point Bradley was assigned to cover Stevie, ummmmm, that's not going to happen....Stevie is no doubt the FASTEST kid IN THE LEAGUE....it was fun for them, though.  It's always fun to play against friends....especially when you win....Bradley's team won 8-5 (or 6).  Bradley got one of the 8, Stevie got a few of the 5 (or 6).

Leadership Experience

Melanee got to go on an adventure yesterday to somewhere with a ropes course type of climbing thing (haha, good description, huh?  I really have to get Melanee to be a guest blogger when I'm blogging about her exciting life!)  She texted me some photos and said it was a blast!

Doesn't it seem like she is always getting to do fun things???!!!!???

And, no, Melanee is not about to slap this girl (I asked)...lol.
