I bought a pumpkin the other day, Andrew carved it tonight, do you think it will last til Halloween?

Spirit Week
This is Homecoming week at PV, so each day has a different spirit week theme...today was black and white day.....William wore this
Yes, it's black and white....it's a MORPHSUIT, have you ever heard of those? I've seen people in them in the stands at hockey games and they look SO WEIRD. William said he got a lot of strange looks today. He can see out, but they can't see any part of him....haha. I wish we would have closed the door, you could have seen the black better....but he wont put it back on for me...it's 103 degrees here today, too hot for morphin!

Hat Trick & Corner Kick Goal
Bradley wasn't supposed to make it to our game today because he was up in WAY Northern California about 4 hours away hunting. They left this morning at around 10 am to be able to get back here for some of the game. He made it to the field right before half time. I put him into the game as soon as he got dressed and it was our throw in. He went in an soon there after, we had a corner kick....he took it. He kicked it HARD, about waist high, close to the goal....it deflected a little off of a defender and WENT IN! Goal #1 for Bradley. His second goal was also fairly spectacular. Hunter, one of our players crossed the ball, Bradley was RIGHT there for the put in, but in his wild jump, leap, trickiness he MISSED the ball...the ball went WAY wide...Bradley chased it out there with a few defenders, the goalie also went out of the front of the goal a bit...Bradley got to it first, turned, and fired it into the goal, over the defender who fell in front of him and over the out of place goalie...the angle was really tricky, but it went in solidly. His 3rd goal was a bit of nice passing from our team which turned Bradley loose for a semi break away which he nicely put away. THEN I TOOK HIM OUT OF THE GAME. He sat out for a bit, but really wanted to play...he promised me that he would only try to get assists. As soon as he went back in he had another break away, this shot, though he BLASTED right into the cross bar....which, he claims he DID ON PURPOSE. lol. Our team won the game 5-0. It was HOT today, maybe near 100 degrees. It was really hard on the guys near the end of the game to do more than just walk, but they didn't give up any goals, it was awesome to see them play together as a team and back each other up and encourage each other. (I didn't bring my camera...I figured I'd just ask Jace to take a few....but he didn't bring his camera...no biggy, I figured I'd just ask Scott to take a few with the camera he brought hunting, but he changed cars and didn't have it with him...so NO PHOTOS today!
(Andrew missed his game, but his team won 7-0, AGAIN.)

Chico 1 - P.V. 0
Yesterday was the big PV/Chico boys soccer game and basically the whole town was out there to watch it. It was a good game and both teams tried hard and played well, but Chico scored on a very fluke goal and PV had to go home the losers. But the coach told them after the game, and I agree with him.....PV wasn't outplayed, they should keep their heads up high, knowing that they gave a valiant effort. Chico is a great team, they have been section champs the past 4 years. They have a stellar defense and a superb goalie, they are very hard to score against.
Now, I come to the part of my blogging about the game that's going to sound like a bitter soccer mom, but I am not that way this year with William's soccer playing time......this complaint ALL comes from HIM----
I'll start with details from last game. The stopper is hurt, he has a hip flexor problem. He didn't play last game and hasn't been practicing hard much. The coach put the starting right full back at stopper and started another kid last game. That kid, 5 minutes into the game, got beat, gave up a corner kick, and scored an own goal on that corner kick. He was removed from the game and replaced by William. William played his best game of the season. MANY parents who witnessed it came up to me and told me how well William played. William knew he played well.
So fast forward to yesterday's game. During warm ups the coach walks around talking to various players. At one point he pulls William aside and tells him that he is going to get to start. A few minutes later the team goes into the coach's classroom, which is RIGHT NEXT to the field and they play loud music and have a little team meeting to prepare for the match. The coach announces the starting line up to the team (remember that he has just 3 minutes earlier told William to be ready, he is going to start) in that presentation, William is NOT in the starting line up. They walk to the field single file and the starters go onto the field, while the rest walk to the bench. I don't see William on the field. Instantly, I get a text. I check it thinking it's Scott or Melanee because William is over on the other side of the field, a player in a big game......It's from William, all it says, "I'm so mad". William has a favorite brand of water.....Dasani....when I was at Safeway today, it was on sale and COLD...I bought him one. During warm ups, I never have time to give it to him, so I walk it over to him after the game started. I throw it to him and he looks at me VERY angrily. I wonder if he is mad AT ME FOR SOME REASON. I can't fathom anything I have done, so I didn't worry about it very long.
William came into the game about 15 or 20 minutes after it started. He played right halfback. Later, he was moved back to right full back. The half ended. At half time the coach said to the team, "everyone who was on, goes back to where they were." But when they went on, he pulls William off....he also then tells him to stay loose that he will be going back in shortly.....the whole half goes by....William didn't get in during the second half. He was SO mad at the coach!!!!! His facebook status even says something like "today my heart was broken TWICE by the same person." Everyone who reads that is probably going to wonder what girl hurt his feelings, but it was the coach. So sad.

KARMA
HAHA, a few weeks ago I asked Bradley and Andrew if they knew what "karma" was and they actually did! Smart kids......yeah, but...STAY AWAY FROM KARMA if you can!
I will start this with Reggie Bush....no, he's not a soccer player, he plays American football. I know I am not a football blogger, but I do catch ESPN sometimes (especially on Fridays when they show their "NOT top 10 plays of the week"). Reggie Bush, who dates one of the Kardashians, (YUCK), had to give back his Heisman trophy this week (well, he makes it sound like he voluntarily gave it back, but I think he probably would have liked to keep it, if it was up to him). Well, Reggie, maybe you shouldn't have broken any collegiate rules---KARMA.... but it's just so (no, "funny" is NOT the right word) but maybe "coincidence" that Reggie BROKE HIS LEG last night. I wouldn't want his karma right about now.
But what this post really is about is the KARMA brought on to Theirry Henry this week. I have to go to work right now... so I will finish this up later!
I'm back.
So, if you don't know who Theirry Henry is, well, then you must NOT be a soccer fan. He's an aging French soccer star who's soccer highlights would make a very entertaining YOUTUBE video....there probably have been some made, so go over there and find one if you really want to.....anyway, he's probably MORE famous for a handball he did in World Cup qualifying. You can find that on YOUTUBE, too. Now, he is popular in the US because he plays in the MLS for millions of bucks! Last week he made a mistake almost as big as the aforementioned HANDBALL.....His team scored a goal, as the ball was rolling around, near the net, and as the goalkeeper was about to boot it up to the center line for a kick off, Henry attempted to BLAST it back into the net....I guess that's something he does for celebratory emphasis after goals?!?!??? um, ok, weird, but I guess if that's what he does, it's what he does, so OK...but this time he should have refrained from his attempt because just as he was kicking, the goalie was kicking, they both hit the ball at the same time and it injured to goalie's knee. Another part of this story is that Dallas, the team who Henry's team was playing, has been on a hot streak and hasn't lost in like 15 games and their goalie is one of the reasons they are doing so well and without him they will have to use a back ups back up, which will probably affect the team, which is in a playoff race. So Henry is the bad guy again. At the point in the game where he made his error in judgement, he already had a yellow card. If a player gets 2 yellow cards, they are out of the game and out of the next game. The ref did NOT give a yellow card. Henry gets to play.....soccer networks and advertising people everywhere are happy because the RedBulls next game is against the LA Galaxy and that match up Henry vs. Beckham would sell a lot of tickets, hot dogs, t shirts, etc...... So later in the week the incident was reviewed by the suit and tie guys of MLS and they declared a fine of $2,000 and no suspension for Henry's transgression, even though Dallas' goalie will miss many games. I think any kicking of the ball after it is declared a dead ball should be penalized. I see it all the time.....players kicking the ball away from people about to do a throw in or goal kick or direct kick, and the ref yellow cards them for their actions....what is different about what Henry did? And think about how much money Henry makes!!!!! If one of us regular folk earns, say $50K annually, an equivalent fine is $22......pocket change! I think he should have gotten the second yellow right then and there, but since he didn't I think the board of review people should have suspended him...but since they didn't.....I guess KARMA needs to step in....AND IT DID! Henry is out, he wont be playing against the Galaxy this week. WHY? Why, you ask? Because on that play, the one where he kicked the ball at the same time as the goalie and injured the goalie's MCL, Henry ALSO injured his MCL.
Yep, that's karma at it's best!
