Andrew had a basketball game today. He won the tip off. That's all his team won. The scoreboard was turned off when the score got to 50-10.

Andrew scored his first basket of the season, so he was happy about that, but really upset at how poorly his teammates play. It's called "basketball", but it really is not basketball like in the NBA (or even Junior High). The kids just don't understand the game. They are trying and they are learning though, and they only scored 8 last week, so they are also improving!

He packed a few kids. This is a picture of one of them.

This one is funny to me because the guy covering Andrew is so much smaller. If any teammate could pass well, he could get it to Andrew every time.

Don't know why his mouth is opened!

Grabbing a rebound!

Looking for a pass.

Well covered.

This play would have been awesome to have on video. Andrew dribbled and used his strength to back this opponent right to the basket.

Bad, blurry picture, but Andrew totally understood the concept of setting a pick or screen....and really helped the point guard get free a few times.

Andrew started the game under the basket because he is tall, but the coach mixed things up and had Andrew on the ball for a while.

Dribbling!

Nice smile here, doesn't even look fake, but he really was faking it. He was really mad after the game and I had to beg and force him to smile. He's got a lot to learn about basketball...a lot of work to do....His coach is a basketball guy, so I think there will be SOME learning and success this season....but I also think it's going to be a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng season.
GOOOO ANDREW!!!!!
